Getaround is a car rental platform where cars are available from private and professional owners. The prices are set by the hour or day. The trip liability insurance is included in the price. An additional driver can be added at no extra cost.
Getaround charges a 40% commission from all trips booked, including trip extensions. Each trip extension is processed as a new trip and is billed separately from the initial booking. Renters have no monthly fees but are subject to a small Booking Fee. A nominal Booking Fee will be charged for every Trip. This Booking Fee is charged to the renter for the reservation of a Getaround car and is required for each trip. 3% of Trip price ($1.00 minimum) is the Booking Fee.
Each Renter will be charged a License Fee to cover the cost of driving record processing. This fee will be charged on all first-time bookings made on any new driver's license added to the Renter's Getaround account. The License Fee is $10.00.
Owners are subject to the following fees while sharing their car on Getaround. A one-time Connect™ Setup Fee will be charged to the Owner to cover the installation of the Getaround Connect™ at onboarding. The Setup Fee is $99.00. A monthly data subscription fee will be charged to the Owner to cover data network access for the Connect™ installed in the car. The Connect™ Subscription is $20.00/month.
When a Renter cancels a Trip, a Renter Cancellation Fee may be charged at Getaround's sole discretion. This fee is charged to compensate for the time the car was booked and unavailable for other potential renters. After a Trip has started, it is not refundable and may not be canceled. Cancellation within 1 hour after booking the Trip but before the Trip start time: no fee. More than 1 hour after booking the Trip, the following renter cancellation fees apply: Cancellation prior to 24 hours before the Trip starts: no fee. Cancellation less than 24 hours before the trip starts: 50% of Trip price.
When an Owner cancels a booked Getaround Trip, an Owner Cancellation Fee may be charged at Getaround's sole discretion. This fee is charged to cover the costs of rebooking the affected renter to another car. If canceled more than 24 hours before the Trip starts: no fee. If canceled less than 24 hours before the Trip starts: $25.00.
